“Ever wonder what kind of artwork the Schizophrenic mind can come up with? This is what came out of my mind, and I’m sharing it with everyone.”

Name: Michelle Hammer
Art Materials: Digital Prints 18”x 24″

Where does your inspiration come from?
My inspiration comes from the busy mind.  When you look at these pieces your eye constantly moves around, and never stays in one spot.  One part of the artwork leads to to another area of it and that area also leads to you to a different spot.

Tell us about your creative process.
A few Summers ago to deal with anxiety I decided to get a sketchbook and markers to draw intricate pattern drawings that would take my mind off of life. At the end of the Summer I had a sketchbook full of cool patterns and wanted to more with them. I scanned them all into my computer and brought them into Photoshop. I played around with layers, blending modes, and gradient maps. I loved the result.

Did you notice any change in your anxiety once you started drawing?
The intricate drawings took my mind off of my surroundings. It was an escape for me at the time.

What is the story behind your artwork, if any?
I own the company Schizophrenic.NYC and I wanted to share some of my personal artwork. Ever wonder what kind of artwork the Schizophrenic mind can come up with? This is what came out of my mind, and I’m sharing it with everyone.

Do you plan on creating/sharing more of your personal work? And will you be selling prints of them?
For right now these are what I’m sharing. However, I still do draw.
